Pool Time
Spent a good portion of the day at the pool with the kids, Joe and Mark, and a neighbor, Cody. I took the camera so I could get pictures of the kids doing what they love best, tricks. Riley was wanting to move a pool chair over to the edge so he could get "more air" for his flips, but I had to put my foot down on that one. It was funny watching the kids try to copy Riley, and wipe out on their belly!
And here's a picture of Regan's manicure! She got a gift certificate from Mimi and Papa for a mani/pedi for her birthday, so we went yesterday and spent some time getting our nails did! (And yes, it's pink/blue on every other nail!)

Happy Birthday Sydney!
I can't believe it's already a year since little Sydney was born! To help her celebrate, we went to her house for cake, and watched her demolish a piece the size of her head. We got her a cute little musical tea set that she seemed to love, and Regan picked her out an outfit that matches one of Regan's, so they can be "twins".

Sea World
Sea World |
This was a very last minute trip, but my cousin Christina and her family were going to San Antonio for a few days and invited us to come spend some time with them. We only had Wednesday available and they were headed to Sea World, so we tagged along. The kids, as usual, had a great time and they just LOVE playing with their cousins! They get along great, and it was a blast. We got to feed and pet the dolphins, spent the afternoon in the water park, rode all the rides (Riley was finally tall enough to ride the Great White), and saw the sea lion show, and the Shamu Rocks show. All in all it was a great day, and Regan was asleep before we left the parking lot!

Bumpy Squash?
I'm hoping that this is a certain type of squash that just grows bumpy, and not some weird fungus or poisoned soil that caused these bumps! But my tomatoes are starting to come in, there are hundreds of green ones on the vine, just waiting for them to ripen up. I only have 2 of the large tomatoes so far, not sure how many of those I'll get. But my tomato plants are HUGE this time. They have outgrown their cages and have covered up everything else in the garden. I have gotten a few serrano peppers, and a few of the small yellow tomatoes, which are delicious. I have several more squash on the vine but the bottoms are starting to get eaten by doodle bugs, and I'm not sure what to do about that.

She's BaaaAAACK!!
I was so torn, I really wanted to bring Princess to pick up Regan and surprise her in the car, but I was afraid that Princess wouldn't appreciate the long and winding road to Camp Texlake! So, I left her at home, and we stopped by Tammy's house and got to play with the bunnies, chickens and goats, and our human friends too! Then headed home, I could hardly keep my mouth shut, I just knew she was going to be so excited. And she was! She opened the front door, saw Princess running around and she just started squealing. She was so happy, and Princess was such a good dog for letting Regan cart her around for the rest of the day! She even slept on the foot of Regan's bed and anytime one of us would step in the hallway she would sit up and growl. She's the sweetest dog and Regan has said over and over again that this is the best birthday ever.

Meet Princess
This was kind of bad timing, but we have been planning to get Regan a dog for a while now. She really wanted a small dog that would sleep with her and be her best friend. We didn't really know what breed to look at or anything, but thought we would keep our eyes open. Well, we got an email that a breeder of Pomeranians was having some health issues and needed to get rid of her dogs, and was giving them away for free to good homes. Well, I called, headed out to Elgin today to look at them, and ended up getting this little cutie for Regan. Her name is Princess, she's not quite 2 years old, and she's the sweetest thing. Regan is going to have a HUGE birthday surprise when she gets home from camp, I can't wait!
And this is what Monte thinks about the new dog:

Good Bye Bailey
Today was the day. We knew it was coming. Poor Bailey, he was uncomfortable, and was having a hard time breathing, and his eye was so red and leaking all the time, he had lost a lot of muscle mass in his head, and his lip was forever drooling and making him miserable.
We didn't want to take him in on Regan's birthday, and I hated doing it while she was at camp, but I really didn't want to wait another full week and weekend. So David had taken off to spend the day with me since both kids were occupied, and we took Bailey in. We sat with him while they gave him the medicine, and although I thought I wasn't too emotionally attached, I still balled like a baby. It's so hard to say goodbye to our pets, even when we know it's the right thing to do.
Goodbye Bailey, you were the sweetest dog, and you will be missed. Have fun running around with your big brothers Jake and Miller!

Skateboard Camp
While Regan is at girl scout camp this week, Riley is at skateboard camp, which is nice because it's just down the road from our house. He goes from 9-12 for one on one lessons and then after a lunch break, they have free skate till 3, and he can stay and skate until 10PM. He called the first day a few hundred times wanting me to bring him more drinks. It's not air conditioned in the big skate park, although it is indoors, it gets pretty darn hot in there! I can barely stand there and take a few pictures, I don't know how he skates all day in that!
Happy Birthday Regan!
A walk down Memory Lane with Regan! A picture of her every year on her birthday.
I can't believe I'm not getting to spend Regan's 8th birthday with her. It is certainly a lot quieter around here with her at camp. I miss her, and I know she's having fun but it's just not the same here without my boo.
I was talking to a friend of mine about some of Regan's struggles in school this year, and she thought Regan might be dyslexic. I had no idea what dyslexic was other than getting letters confused, so I googled it when I got home and got pretty worried. Regan does seem to have a lot of the symptoms. So please be praying with us as we go forward with testing for her, that if she is dyslexic, we get her the help she needs to do well in school, and help me know how to teach her as well!
I still can't believe she's 8. Time sure flies when you're having fun!

Let's Play Catch Up!
We've been pretty darn busy the last few weeks. I haven't had a chance to even get the pictures off my camera. But I have some down time now and thought about going back and posting each thing that happened, and ugh, I'll never catch up that way, so I'm just making one big post about everything that's been going on, so here ya go!
First, I'll start on a sad note. Our dog Bailey has been not feeling great lately, first it started with a droopy lip, and a few weeks later, we noticed his eye was a little droopy also. Then his head seemed flat on that side and he was having some issues falling down the stairs, or being very unsteady. I took him to the vet and they said it is more than likely a brain tumor (although for $1,000.00 I can take him in for an MRI to be sure) but that's about the only thing that would cause his symptoms. So we put him on prednisone to see if it would help his symptoms and for a while it has. But I think the end is near. He loses his breath quite easily now and he is always huffing and puffing, even while just laying down. His balance is better, but he's still having a hard time getting up after laying down. Poor thing, he's such a sweet dog (even the cat thinks so!):
Then for Memorial Day, we had a pool party, and had Melissa and Sydney and Andy come over and swim. It was nice in the pool and we had a good time just floating and watching Sydney enjoy the water and her super cool new pool floaty:
Then the kids had Vacation Bible School, of which they only ended up doing two days. One day was a friend's birthday party at Austin's Park and Pizza, where I took pictures of Riley doing hardcore Parkour while we waited:
And this because it was cute, David was on the way home from work and he saw a turtle trying to hurry up and cross the road. He stopped and moved it to the side, came home and was telling me about it, and then realized he should be even farther off the main road, so we jumped in his car, went back up there, grabbed the turtle, and relocated him to the greenbelt area next to our house. They've been clearing out the trees over there and with all the rain we had last week, there's a nice little pond over there. Bailey didn't really take to the turtle, but I think the turtle ended up liking his new home!
And this just because it made me laugh. Riley wearing his Rey Mysterio mask, rocking out on the guitar while Kenzie played DJ Hero. He's too funny!
Well, that brings us up to date in pictures!
But, I also have a waterproof camera to get developed so I can share those! Chris and Trista came down from Jacksonville and wanted to go tubing, so one thing leads to another, we end up with a group of 12 people! Kenzie came for the weekend, Joe and his son Mark, and nephew Tiler, David's old friend Gary (not that Gary is old, just that they've known each other since high school practically) and then me and the kids. We had 2 packed cars and we spent all day Saturday tubing down the Guadalupe River.
The water was almost too cold to be fun, with all the flooding that New Braunfels had last week, we weren't sure we would even make it, but they opened the river back up the day before, but it seemed low, and I have bruises on my body to prove it, as I managed to find every rock just under the surface of the water with my hip bone!
The kids enjoyed it, especially since David came for the first time ever! Riley likes the Comal River better, tamer and in his words, "not as many drunk people!" But it was fun, and can't wait to do it again!

Camp Texlake!
It's hot but we're here!

Update:
So I got Regan settled in to her camp. This is her first time away for so long, and over her birthday too! She isn't as upset about that as I am! She's going to have so much fun though. I packed her a few things for presents, a pack of bracelets she can share with her bunk mates, a deck of cards they can play together before lights out, and a stationery set so she can write me some letters (yeah, right!). She was so excited to be there, and barely gave me a good-bye. I even wrote her a letter for each day that she's going to be there, and left them with the camp to be given to her on certain days! I miss her already, it's so quiet while she's gone (but it's also the reason I'm able to update my blog right now!)
